Terms of Service

Last updated 24 August 2026

By creating an account or using the Owely website or web application, you agree to these terms. Owely is operated by Driftwave Labs, LLC, 1209 Mountain Road PL NE, STE H, Albuquerque, NM 87110, United States.

1. Your account

You must be 16 or older, or have permission from a parent or guardian. One account per person. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your email secure — it is how you sign in.

2. What you upload stays yours

You keep all rights to the material you upload. You grant us only the licence needed to run the service for you: to store your files, process them, and generate study material from them. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account. We do not use your coursework to train AI models.

You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload. Do not upload material you are not permitted to copy, or content that is unlawful.

3. Acceptable use

Owely is a study tool. Using it during an exam or any assessment where outside help is not permitted is a breach of these terms — see the Academic Integrity Policy, which forms part of this agreement.

You also agree not to:

  • Automate, scrape, or resell access to the service.
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits or plan limits.
  • Reverse engineer, or use the service to build a competing product.
  • Upload malware, or attempt to attack the service or other users.

4. AI output is not guaranteed to be correct

Answers are generated by an AI system. They can be wrong, incomplete, or confidently mistaken. The working is shown step by step precisely so you can check it. Check before you rely on it, especially for anything graded. We are not responsible for academic outcomes.

5. Plans, payment, and refunds

  • Every new account includes one free solve to try the product. Paid plans are billed in advance for the period you choose — weekly, monthly or quarterly — in your local currency where supported (US dollars otherwise), with any applicable tax included in the price shown.
  • Payment is processed by Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record and appears on your statement. We never see or store your card details.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. A trial converts to the full plan at the end of the trial period unless you cancel first.
  • Cancel any time from Settings → Billing. You keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for; after that, solving needs a new plan or token pack. Nothing you made is deleted.
  • Refunds: write to us within 14 days of a charge and we refund it in full. If you are a consumer in the EEA or UK, your statutory rights are unaffected. Full detail, including trials and cancellation, is in the Refund Policy.
  • If a payment fails we will retry and email you. Access may be paused until it succeeds.
  • We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email before any price increase.

6. Availability

We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give you at least 30 days to export your data.

7. Ending the agreement

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, in which case a serious or repeated breach may mean no refund. On termination you may export your data for 30 days.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect losses, including academic results. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Changes to these terms

We will email you at least 30 days before any material change. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
